ACCREDITATION
 
The Certificate in Fire Safety and Emergency Management Course (CFSEM Course) is supported by Civil Defence Academy (CDA).
 
Particpants who successfully pass the prescribed examination and attend at least 80% of the course will be awarded the Certificate of Achievement.
 
Please note that :-
 
Graduate from Certificate in Fire Safety and Emergency Management Course (CFSEM Course) will not be able to take on role as a Fire Safety Manager (FSM).
 
However, the course is one of the qualifications listed in the Fire Safety Manager Course (FSM Course) entry requirement.
 
Participants whom complete the CFSEM Course, together with this certificate and any 5 GCE O-levels, can be used to enroll in the FSM Course.

TARGET AUDIENCE
 
CFSEM Course is relevant for persons responsible for fire safety, security and / or building maintenance or property maintenance or facilities maintenance.
 
COURSE OBJECTIVE
 
This course is designed to equip and familarise participants at the completion of the course with
 
1.     The basic working knowledge on fire science and fire safety engineering.
 
2.     The various types of fire protection installations and equipment in their premises and their operational control and maintenance.
 
3.     The means and knowledge to respond to fire alarm activation, fight incipient fire, perform rescue and evacuation.
 
4.     The basic requirement of fire safety installations and maintenance.
 
5.     The basic working knowledge to building inspection and testing of fire protection systems in a building.
 
6.     The role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Manager.
 
7.     To understand basic concepts and applicants to incident management.
 
8.     To have basic knowledge of what are the principal consideration, planning parameters and desired outcome of evacuation planning and emergency response planning.
